Job Summary
As a National Account Manager you will build and strengthen partnerships with major national retail accounts owning endtoend customer relationships while driving sales growth and margin performance across assigned this role you will focus on growing and protecting existing business expanding assortments improving merchandising and messaging and working closely with Marketing eCommerce and crossfunctional sales teams to maximize instore and online performance.
You will partner with customers and internal teams to execute growth initiatives bring forward insights from the market and coordinate programs that enhance product visibility and retail execution. Your ability to translate data into actionbalancing customer needs with business objectiveswill be critical to driving longterm success.

Position Location
This position is based in Toronto Ontario and requires up to 50% travel to support customer engagement field activity and national account responsibilities.
What you will be doing
- Partner with assigned national retail accounts to achieve annual sales revenue and margin targets on a quarterly semiannual and annual basis.
- Collaborate with retail partners and internal teams to develop account strategies and shared growth plans aligned with corporate objectives.
- Identify opportunities to expand assortments optimize portfolios and enhance product visibility across brickandmortar and eCommerce channels.
- Coordinate and support marketing promotional and merchandising initiatives that help retailers effectively showcase products.
- Lead and facilitate line reviews promotional reviews and strategic business reviews aligning customer needs with category strategies.
- Build and maintain strong trustbased relationships with account stakeholders and thirdparty selling partners.
- Partner with Sales Leadership to develop forecasts track performance and communicate key initiatives.
- Initiate and lead margin improvement activities through collaboration with Finance Marketing Logistics and Customer Service teams.
- Gather and share insights on market trends competitive activity and customer behavior using POS data store visits and industry engagement.
- Support customer trade shows and events including program coordination and account execution.
- Serve as a key connection point between customers and internal teams sharing insights that inform product marketing and operational strategies.
- Apply strong financial acumen to identify opportunities that benefit both the customer and the business.
- Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities across processes assortment strategy and account execution.
Qualifications :
Required:
- Bachelors degree required.
- 57 years of experience selling to national retail accounts.
- Strong background in consumer durables FMCG or building materials preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of POS metrics with demonstrated ability to use data to drive sales growth.
- Proven track record of identifying qualifying and successfully opening new retail accounts.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to proactively manage customer priorities.
- Ability to travel up to 50% including overnight travel.
Preferred:
- MBA or advanced degree in a related field.
- Experience supporting coop retail accounts and field sales organizations.
- Experience managing assortment strategy trade spend and promotional planning.
Additional Information :
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $103000 USD - $138000 CAD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to education training experience professional achievement business need and addition to base salary employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a role-based sales incentive plan.
