Position: Senior Associate/ Advisor Corporate Outreach

Employment Type:Permanent
Compensation Details:

  • Stakeholder Relations 15 (Senior Associate): Salaries typically range from $65 172 to $86 898 annually based on qualifications and experiences plus a performance-based incentive.

  • Stakeholder Relations 17 (Advisor): Salaries typically range from $84 698 to $112 931 annually based on qualifications and experiences plus a performance-based incentive.

Location:

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment with a current requirement of two in-office days per week increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change).
  • This role can be performed from EDCs headquarters in Ottawa or from our Community Hub located in Calgary.
  • Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview:

The Corporate Outreach teambuilds andmaintainsEDCrelationshipswithrelevant stakeholder groupsfor the corporationworking tocreate opportunities for2-waythought leadershipexchangeforgatheringmarketinsightsandfordevelopingmeaningful connections. The role of theSeniorAssociate/Advisor is tosupportthe designexecutionand evaluationofCorporateand Executiveoutreach strategiesin this contextandaligned with EDCs strategicobjectives.

Workingclosely withthe senior members of the team and cross-functionally the candidate will support theexecution ofoutreach activitiesinvolving keyplayers in Canadas international trade ecosystemsuch asbusiness and industry associationschambers of commerce civil society organizations think tanks and other relevant includesboth proactive and reactiveoutreachopportunity developmentassessmentdesignand delivery.

The team works in a fast-paced environment withshiftingpriorities requiring agilityand belowgives a sense of the role description while the breadth of accountabilitiescan vary based onanevolvingenvironment.

What you will be doing:

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Support thedevelopmentand execution ofplanswhich enable EDCs engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Support the team in the delivery ofsponsorship and partnership opportunities which includes negotiatingmutually beneficial terms and processing outcomesthrough internal procurementprocesses.
  • Research and assessstakeholderandoutreachopportunitiesand develop recommendations.
  • Assessimpactofdelivered sponsorships andpartnershipagreementsas part ofretrospective andrenewal processes.

Executive Outreach:

  • Develop and design outreach opportunities for the senior leadershipteamand other key roles in the organization namely in large conferences smaller roundtablesas well as bilateral meetings.
  • Preparesupporting materials includingbriefing notes eventscenariosandagendasfor executive outreach.
  • Work withthe Communications teamand subject matter experts across a variety of teams to supportsenior leadershipspeaking engagements and meetings.
  • Contribute toteamsexecutive outreach planning.

OutreachSupport:

  • Conductongoingdata entrymaintaintrackers and databases related to stakeholder informationand workflowmanagementand extract data for use in various reports asrequired.
  • Coordinatesponsored andstakeholder eventsincludingidentifyingliaisingand securing attendeesprocurementandinvoice processing as well as support related to corporate responses to externalinquires.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Support inthe improvement oftheteamssystemstrackersand reporting.
  • Support the evolution of team relationship management practices including account planning practices.
  • Suggest innovativeapproachesto delivery including considering how to usenew technologies() to bring efficiencies to deliverables.

What we are looking for:

  • Undergraduatedegree inpublicaffairsbusinesscommunicationsor other relevantdiscipline.
  • Minimum2years (level15) or 5years (level17) of experiencein publicaffairs international affairs and/or stakeholder relations or related experience.
  • Knowledge of EDCs mandate and Canadas trade ecosystem.
  • Comfortableworkingcross functionallyand with various levels of leadership.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Exposure torelationship managementdisciplines.
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office Software Systems (Word Excel AccessOutlookand PowerPoint)andSharepoint.

What will make you stand out:

  • Bilingual in both official languages (English and French)
  • Masters degree inpublicaffairsbusiness administration communications program management publicadministrationor related field.
  • Experience in developing negotiating and managing corporate sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Network and experience working with a variety of businessindustry civilsocietyorganizationswith a focus on international trade.
  • Experience in project managementor event delivery.
  • Knowledge ofADO Azure DevOps.
  • Exposure tonew emerging AI tools.
