Accounting Specialist (m/f/d)

Location: Krakow (Hybrid)

You support general accounting in implementing financial programs and policies and contribute to ensuring proper accounting this role you work closely with internal teams and the GBS organization and make a key contribution to closing reporting and compliance requirements. You also participate in the continuous improvement of processes ensure adherence to internal controls and support management decisions through reliable financial data and reporting.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards ensuring timely and accurate completion of all closing activities
  • Execution and oversight of general ledger accounting tasks including maintaining financial records and ensuring data quality
  • Responsibility for inventory reconciliations including analysis and clarification of discrepancies
  • Accounting support for right-of-use (RoU) assets and lease agreements in accordance with IFRS 16
  • Coordination and professional support of the annual audit conducted by KPMG serving as the main point of contact for external auditors
  • Collaboration with the existing GBS organization particularly within R2R S2P and I2C processes for the DE AT and CH region
  • Ongoing monitoring of financial KPIs through comparisons analyses and variance explanations as a management and early warning tool
  • Technical support of IT system maintenance and related analysis tools
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements acting as the key contact for the local Internal Control Assessment

Your Profile

  • Degree in business administration or a completed commercial vocational training with relevant professional qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in finance and accounting
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial closing processes
  • Experience with IFRS particularly IFRS 16 as well as knowledge of HGB
  • Solid understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements
  • Strong affinity for IT systems and working with numbers
  • High level of initiative confident demeanor assertiveness strong communication skills and team spirit complete your profile
  • Fluent in German and English
