Primary design focus areas for our Mechanical Component Design teams include:

BWR Equipment Design

BWR Internal Components Design

BWR Fuel Design (designing the mechanical components for nuclear fuel)

Mechanical Component Testing

Essential Responsibilities

• Takes personal responsibility understanding impact of design and associated risk. Considers customer needs andmaintainsopen communication with interfacing engineers and project stakeholders.

• Operate in a matrixed engineering team to ensure high quality deliverablesin accordance withcustomer requirements business procedures and regulatory agency guidelines.

• Leads the analysis design test and integration of mechanical components and equipmentto define and support projects that meet business standards and program / product requirements.

• Performance of fundamental engineering hand calculations and modeling.

• Preparing and presenting design reviews and technical reports to internal and external customers.

• Lead/facilitatediscussion and information exchange to promote open dialogue including working effectively in a matrixed team environment.

• Ensuring that product designs meet all intended application and design requirements by collaborating with experts in other functional teams.

• Work closely with Sourcing and Fabricators to provide technical support.

• Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineeringor equivalent engineering discipline from an accredited university or college.

• Proven experienceworking in an engineering design environment.

• Fluent communication in English and Polish.

Eligibility Requirements:

• The preferred work location for this role is at theGEVernovaEngineering Innovation Center in Warsaw Polandbut highly qualified candidates will be consideredwith hybrid workoption.

• Desired Characteristics

• Masters degree in an engineering or technical discipline.

• Prior experience in nuclear or other highly regulated industry.

• Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g. NQA-1 and ISO 9000)

• Experience analyzing and solving moderately complex design problems.

• Strong oral and written communication skills including a demonstrated ability to write organized engineering documents.

• Strong interpersonal and proven leadership skills.

• Knowledge of Geometric Design & Tolerancing (GD&T) practices

• Knowledge of the ASME/AWS codes

• Proficiencywith Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD design

• Proficiencywith ANSYS Finite Element Analysis (FEA) analysis
