St Vincents Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) part of St Vincents Health Australia and guided by Mary Aikenhead Ministries is a not-for-profit Catholic private hospital operating across four campuses in Fitzroy East Melbourne Kew and Werribee.
ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE
We are currently seeking a motivated professional and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead our 35-bed Neuroscience Ward at the Fitzroy campus.
- Reporting to the General Manager/Director of Clinical Services you will oversee the daily operations of the unit provide strong leadership to support outstanding patient care and drive the ongoing development of clinical practice.
- In this role you will lead a dedicated team of highly skilled and supportive nurses including graduate nurses and postgraduate students. You will also work alongside leading surgeons and medical specialists who are recognised for their advanced techniques and innovative treatments.
- The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership experience in neuroscience nursing a strong commitment to delivering safe high-quality patient-centred care and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities will include:
- Provide clear guidance support and expert advice to nursing and support staff to ensure high standards of clinical care are consistently upheld. Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with staff Accredited Medical Practitioners (AMPs) patients families and carers.
- Serve as a positive role model reinforcing the units vision and culture while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and apply effective team-building strategies to foster a culture of continuous improvement and enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
- Lead the team in the efficient and effective use of resources encouraging flexibility and responsiveness to meet changing service demands.

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will have:
- Current registered nurse with AHPRA registration
- Membership of the Australasian Neurosciences Nurses Association preferred
- Ability to influence and lead continuous quality of care improvements
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the use of IT platforms such as IBA(Webpas) Power BI UKG and Riskman or similar
