We are seeking a Modern Work M365 Support Engineer to join a Microsoft-managed services project supporting enterprise customers in Japan. This role focuses on end-user productivity support and cloud service operations ensuring a seamless experience across Microsoft 365 applications and services. You will operate in a hybrid work environment providing technical support troubleshooting and operational assistance across M365 applications and cloud platforms while collaborating with Microsoft-aligned teams in a structured SLA-driven delivery model. This position is well-suited for candidates with strong foundational knowledge of M365 tools and basic cloud concepts along with a high aptitude for learning and adapting in a fast-evolving technology landscape.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Provide support for Microsoft 365 Office applications (Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook)
- Assist in the operation and troubleshooting of M365 cloud services including:
- Exchange Online
- SharePoint Online
- Microsoft Teams
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to:
- User access
- Collaboration tools
- Email and document management
- Support basic network-related troubleshooting (HTTP TLS TCP/IP DNS)
- Collaborate with internal teams and Microsoft stakeholders to meet service-level agreements (SLAs)
- Document issues resolutions and standard operating procedures
- Continuously learn and adopt new Microsoft technologies and platform updates
- Provide user guidance and support to improve overall productivity and system usage
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10 yrs of hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365 environments
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Office client applications (Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook)
- Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 cloud services (Exchange Online SharePoint Online Teams)
- Foundational knowledge of computer networking concepts (HTTP TLS TCP/IP DNS)
- Strong ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools technologies and environments
- Ability to support users in a structured customer-facing environment
- Japanese: Native or fluent (required for customer interaction and documentation)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic knowledge of identity and access management including:
- Active Directory (AD)
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Entra ID Connect ADFS WAP
- Basic understanding of Windows client environments
- Interest in AI technologies and modern workplace innovations
- Experience working in enterprise IT support or managed services environments
