We are seeking a dedicated Correctional Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive healthcare services within a secure facility setting. The RN will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care administering medications assisting providers and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards while maintaining safety and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care including assessment planning implementation and evaluation
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by licensed providers
Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures
Conduct sick calls and prepare patients for evaluation
Assess and respond to inmate/resident health concerns including emergencies
Monitor patient conditions and coordinate referrals to external healthcare facilities when necessary
Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed medical staff
Maintain accurate timely and confidential medical records
Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and assist with care coordination
Perform audits and ensure compliance with pharmacy and healthcare regulations
Observe and document patient behavior and clinical status
Maintain a safe environment by identifying and addressing potential contraband risks
Provide health education and counseling to patients
Assist in preparing reports logs and documentation
Support accreditation and quality improvement initiatives
Respond to legal regulatory and emergency situations as required
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of professional RN experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma or Degree)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of employment
Valid Drivers License
Strong clinical critical thinking and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively in a structured and secure environment
