Job Title: Correctional Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Shelby MT 59474

Duration: 12 Weeks (Possibility of Extension)
Schedule: 36 Hours/Week
Shift: Night Shift
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Correctional Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive healthcare services within a secure facility setting. The RN will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care administering medications assisting providers and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards while maintaining safety and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care including assessment planning implementation and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by licensed providers
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures
- Conduct sick calls and prepare patients for evaluation
- Assess and respond to inmate/resident health concerns including emergencies
- Monitor patient conditions and coordinate referrals to external healthcare facilities when necessary
- Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed medical staff
- Maintain accurate timely and confidential medical records
- Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and assist with care coordination
- Perform audits and ensure compliance with pharmacy and healthcare regulations
- Observe and document patient behavior and clinical status
- Maintain a safe environment by identifying and addressing potential contraband risks
- Provide health education and counseling to patients
- Assist in preparing reports logs and documentation
- Support accreditation and quality improvement initiatives
- Respond to legal regulatory and emergency situations as required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of professional RN experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma or Degree)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of employment
- Valid Drivers License
- Strong clinical critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively in a structured and secure environment
