Job Summary
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in music therapy or its equivalent is required (individuals who are working toward a masters degree may be considered). Knowledge of music therapy clinical practices in medical skilled nursing and mental health settings is required. Ability to demonstrate music therapy-related skills and abilities (musical skills therapeutic skills etc.) is required. Current Board Certification as a music therapist (MT-BC credential) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Willingness to learn and adhere to University of Pacific Conservatory (including music therapy program) policies and protocols. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively. Ability to work independently and demonstrate a sense of professional responsibility. Working knowledge of computers and other applicable technology. Professional and/or internship experience in a medical setting strongly preferred. Music therapy student/intern supervisory experience preferred. Research experience is preferred. Training in at least one area of specialized music therapy clinical practice (e.g. BMGIM NICU -MT NMT ) is preferred. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice equity and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
