Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to support perioperative patient care in a fast-paced operating room this role you will function as a scrub assistant during surgical and invasive procedures ensuring the availability and proper handling of surgical instruments and equipment.
Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse you will apply your clinical expertise to maintain a sterile environment support surgical teams and contribute to high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare maintain and monitor the sterile field during surgical procedures
- Function as a scrub assistant for a variety of operative and invasive procedures
- Ensure proper preparation and availability of surgical instruments and equipment
- Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instruments and supplies efficiently
- Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Assist with patient positioning draping and intraoperative support
- Collaborate with surgeons nurses and other surgical team members
- Perform instrument counts and ensure proper handling before during and after procedures
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Serve as a resource and mentor to team members as needed
Required Experience & Skills
- Hands-on experience in the following specialties:
- General Surgery
- Gynecology (GYN)
- Ear Nose & Throat (ENT)
- Orthopedics
- Urology
- Vascular Surgery
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgical systems (e.g. Mako Robotics)
- Strong understanding of surgical instrumentation and sterile techniques
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure fast-paced operating room environment
Preferred Experience
- Neurospine surgical procedures
- Pediatric surgical experience
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (preferred)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential (preferred if applicable)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (if required)
