IT and OT Software Applications Manager and Director

Must Have:

• Must have 3-6 years team management experience
• Experience JavaScript and AI software development tools.
• Manufacturing experience required. ERP experience (JD Edwards preferred)
• They are looking at comp on this from a three structured tier. The high end of this range would be for someone that has done what theyd like to do (advanced technologies) at another company already and can duplicate it here. This role of the IT and OT Software and Applications Manager will be the successor to their IT Leader retiring in 1 1/2 years.
• This position is unique in the fact it is with an employee-owned organization. The employee will benefit from annual ESOP (15%) and Target bonus (typically 10%) with the target bonus being based on a 5 year rolling salary history. The longer you are with the company these bonus can become huge.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced IT & OT Software and Applications Manager to lead a team of software developers application specialists and data scientists. This role is responsible for designing developing and maintaining business and operational software systems that drive efficiency quality and innovation. The manager will collaborate with IT OT and business teams to ensure software aligns with business objectives supports key processes and delivers measurable value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mentor and manage a team of developers data scientists product owners and analysts.
• Oversee software development for ERP custom applications and data platforms ensuring quality scalability and secure coding practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs prioritize features and develop solutions that deliver value.
• Manage project delivery using agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban ensuring timelines budgets and quality goals are met.
• Establish and monitor team performance metrics (OKRs/KPIs) and software system effectiveness.
• Drive system support troubleshooting and end-user training programs to maximize adoption and operational efficiency.
• Maintain security and compliance standards including secure coding audits and adherence to data privacy regulations.
• Stay current on technology trends applying new approaches to improve software performance and business outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in IT Software Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7 10 years in software development or application management.
• 3 5 years managing teams of 15 25 IT professionals.
• Experience JavaScript ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards) agile development and secure coding practices.
• Experience managing data science teams including analytics machine learning and data governance.

Preferred:

• Experience with DevOps CI/CD pipelines automated testing and enterprise architecture.
• Experience using AI development tools to improve productivity in ERP and custom software environments.
