Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of Extension/Conversion)
Location: Davenport IA 52809
Shift: 3rd Shift (10:00 PM 6:00 AM)
Role Overview
Support welding manufacturing operations by improving processes troubleshooting production issues and ensuring quality and efficiency in a fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and support manufacturing processes and engineering projects
- Analyze and improve manufacturing methods equipment and workflows
- Support feasibility testing and validation of engineering solutions
- Assist in developing engineering standards and specifications
- Perform inspections and recommend corrective actions
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors
- Identify process gaps and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Support product development and production activities
- Work within project plans to achieve defined goals
Production & Welding Focus
- Support 3rd shift fabrication and welding operations
- Troubleshoot manual and robotic welding systems
- Support operators maintenance and production teams
- Resolve issues in MES systems and automated equipment
- Maintain and improve welding processes and documentation
- Support continuous improvement SERA and repair processes
Required Skills
- Experience with manual and robotic welding systems (Fanuc preferred)
- Experience with MES systems in fabrication environments
- Ability to troubleshoot welding fixtures and automated systems
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing prints (GD&T)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in team settings
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to document and develop processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Technical Knowledge
- Manufacturing process development and improvement
- Engineering testing and validation
- Project management fundamentals
- Continuous improvement methodologies
