School Nurse

This is a highly specialized hands-on nursing role supporting a nonverbal adult student in a structured educational and community-based program. The nurse will provide continuous medical and personal care support throughout the school day and during all transportation and community activities.

• Provide one-on-one nursing support for a 22-year-old nonverbal student
• Accompany the student from school during transportation routes (pickup & drop-off)
• Ride the bus daily and support the student during community-based learning activities
• Ensure student safety comfort and medical needs are met at all times
• Collaborate with school and transportation staff to maintain continuity of care
• Monitor and respond to any health or behavioral needs during school and community outings

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• School nursing or pediatric/adult special needs experience preferred
• Comfortable providing care in non-traditional settings (bus/community outings)
• Strong communication patience and adaptability
• Ability to work independently in a 1:1 care environment
