About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Appellate Attorney with 2 6 years of experience to join a well-established mid-sized law firm based in downtown Manhattan. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives on complex legal challenges and is passionate about appellate advocacy and motion practice.

In this position you will play a critical role in shaping legal strategy across all stages of litigation. You will work closely with experienced trial attorneys to develop compelling legal arguments preserve appellate issues and manage post-trial motions and appeals. The role offers significant exposure to high-stakes medical malpractice defense matters and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to case outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft review and argue appellate briefs in New York State and Federal courts
• Handle motion practice across all phases of litigation including complex dispositive and procedural motions
• Conduct in-depth legal research and provide strategic legal analysis on intricate legal issues
• Collaborate with trial teams to ensure preservation of appellate issues and strengthen litigation strategy
• Manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines

What We re Looking For:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Admission to the New York Bar
• 2 6 years of experience in appellate practice and complex motion practice
• Strong familiarity with New York State and Federal appellate rules
• Exceptional legal research writing and advocacy skills
• Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients
