FocusPoint is supporting a technology organization in identifying a seasoned Quality Assurance Lead to guide testing strategy execution and automation across multiple initiatives. The role sits within the clients Operations and Quality Assurance function aligned under their Office of the CTO.
This position is ideal for a hands-on QA leader who can balance execution oversight and automation strategy in a fast-paced delivery environment.
Role Overview
The QA Lead will own end-to-end test execution provide leadership across concurrent projects and drive the development and operationalization of automated testing frameworks. The role requires both strategic direction and deep technical involvement.
Key Responsibilities
Test Execution and Quality Controls
Lead planning and execution of system integration regression and UAT testing
Maintain stable QA environments and effective test data management
Manage the defect lifecycle including triage prioritization and root-cause analysis
Track and report quality metrics including defect trends automation coverage and release readiness
QA Leadership and Oversight
Serve as the QA Lead across multiple initiatives coordinating with internal teams and vendor QA resources
Assign testing tasks review deliverables and ensure consistent execution quality
Establish and enforce QA standards templates and best practices
Coach team members on testing methodologies and automation adoption
Portfolio Management and Reporting
Maintain a centralized view of all active QA efforts
Provide regular updates on testing progress quality risks and release readiness
Identify cross-project risks dependencies and capacity constraints
Ensure leadership has clear visibility into overall quality posture
Test Automation Strategy and Execution
Design and implement automated testing frameworks across UI API integration and regression layers
Standardize automation tools frameworks and coding practices
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
Convert manual regression suites into scalable automated coverage
Operationalizing QA and Governance
Establish scalable QA operating models across delivery teams
Embed QA and automation into Agile ceremonies and release processes
Define and enforce quality gates entry and exit criteria and release sign-off standards
Maintain audit-ready documentation supporting ITGC and compliance requirements
Required Experience and Skills
Core Qualifications
5 or more years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing
Proven experience as a QA Lead or Senior QA Engineer
Strong hands-on background in both manual and automated testing
Demonstrated experience building and scaling automation frameworks
Ability to operate independently in fast-paced delivery-driven environments
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of SDLC Agile and DevOps practices
Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium Playwright Cypress or similar
Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)
Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as QTest Tosca or Azure DevOps
Strong reporting documentation and stakeholder communication skills
