Job Summary
PROJECT NAME: The Data Center Colocation and Migration
Scope of Project:
Project Overview:
NYC DSS is undertaking a large-scale Data Center Co-location and Migration Project to modernize its IT infrastructure.
Approximately 90% of current data center infrastructure is reaching End-of-Life (EOL) / End-of-Support (EOS)
Migration from 15 MetroTech Center to 11 MetroTech (Brooklyn NY)
Consolidation of multiple data centers into a single co-location facility
Focus on:
Infrastructure modernization
Risk mitigation
Improved system reliability and performance
This project is critical to DSS operations supporting applications used for:
Public assistance
Housing and shelter services
Benefits distribution systems
Risk mitigation
Improved system reliability and performance

Responsibilities:
Extending the SAN fabric from 15 Metrotech to 11 Metrotech.
Designing and configuring the SAN components and working with multiple storage platforms such as NetApp Hitachi and IBM.
Work closely with IT teams business units vendors and partners to collect requirements and keep all parties informed throughout the process.
Prepare the new SAN environment by setting up LUNs creating storage groups configuring zoning and ensuring all connections are in place.
Execute the migration using proven tools and techniques to maintain data integrity and reduce downtime as much as possible.

Required/Preferred Skills:
4 years experience in planning and executing large-scale SAN-based data migrations
LUN migrations storage consolidations replication cutovers
High availability and disaster recovery using Hitachi replication
SAN virtualization and multi-site fabric architectures
Migration planning stakeholder coordination risk mitigation change management
Post-migration Hyper Care support and troubleshooting
Brocade Fibre Channel (zoning ISL trunking fabric merges)
Multi-vendor SAN: Hitachi NetApp IBM Pure
Troubleshooting latency pathing failures replication lag zoning conflicts
LUN migrations storage consolidations replication cutovers
High availability and disaster recovery using Hitachi replication
SAN virtualization and multi-site fabric architectures
Migration planning stakeholder coordination risk mitigation change management
Post-migration Hyper Care support and troubleshooting
