Surgical Technician

Athena Health Care is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to support our surgical services this role you will play a critical part in ensuring safe and efficient surgical procedures by maintaining sterile environments preparing instruments and assisting surgeons and clinical staff throughout operations.

• Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical field in accordance with established protocols
• Ensure readiness for assigned surgical procedures by organizing instruments and supplies
• Assist surgeons during procedures anticipating needs and providing appropriate instruments
• Support circulating nurses and other surgical team members as needed
• Maintain inspect and ensure proper functioning of operating room equipment and instruments
• Handle and care for surgical specimens according to policy and regulatory standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support surgical operations

• Full-Time (0.9 FTE 36 hours/week) Evening Shift
• Full-Time (1.0 FTE 40 hours/week) Day Shift
• Part-Time (0.8 FTE 32 hours/week) Variable Shift
• Part-Time (0.75 FTE 30 hours/week) Evening Shift

Required:

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting upon hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire

Preferred:

• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room experience
