Job Summary
Job Summary (List Format):
- Receive and open incoming clinical packages and prepare orders for laboratory processing
- Verify and match requisitions with specimens and related documentation
- Accurately accession patient orders into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Identify and flag incomplete missing or inconsistent information and communicate with relevant staff to resolve issues
- Perform routine clerical tasks including filing document organization and maintaining logs/records
- Adhere to all laboratory policies procedures and regulatory guidelines (e.g. CLIA CAP HIPAA OSHA)
- Assist with administrative and support tasks as assigned by laboratory management
- Maintain a clean organized and efficient work area
- Utilize strong data entry skills and attention to detail when handling patient information
- Work efficiently in a high-volume repetitive and fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate strong organizational time-management and communication skills
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer literacy; experience with LIS or EMR systems is a plus
- High school diploma or GED required; 1 2 years of data entry or clerical experience preferred
- Medical clinical or laboratory experience is a plus but not required
