PRN Registered Nurse (RN) Dialysis

Job Summary
The Dialysis Nurse is responsible for delivering renal replacement therapy and nursing care to patients with renal conditions. This includes performing patient assessments dialysis procedures equipment maintenance and providing education to patients and clinical staff.
Essential Functions- Accurately perform patient assessments and identify renal care needs.
- Perform dialysis treatments according to nephrologist orders and organizational protocols.
- Prepare dialysis treatment areas with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Maintain dialysis machines and ensure equipment is functioning per policy.
- Monitor patients during dialysis and intervene as needed to ensure patient safety and treatment efficacy.
- Educate patients and families about dialysis treatment procedures and preventive measures.
- Provide clinical staff with education regarding renal therapy practices and protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Must demonstrate proficiency in dialysis-related clinical skills and equipment operation.
Effective communication and patient education skills are essential.
Knowledge Skills & AbilitiesThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and/or abilities required.
Education: Graduate of an approved Bachelor or Associate degree in nursing.
Experience: At least 2 years of current experience in dialysis or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) certification required.
License: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred.
