Description:
- Creates and maintains RedHat Linux virtual machines running in a cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS).
- Evaluates systems for IAVA compliance and applies necessary security updates/patches.
- Performs command line system administration tasks on virtual machines.
- Handles regular system backups and periodically tests backups for functionality.
- Communicates with developers and dev ops team members to provide system administration support.
- Apply patches and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot server issues.
- Administer customer accounts
- Deploy monitoring tools.
- Deploy applications and tools.
- Assist with escalated customer tickets.
- Installation and cabling of equipment
- Ten (10) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope type and complexity is required. Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
- Linux command line system administration (CentOS RedHat Amazon Linux or equivalent)
- Experience applying system updates via yum or equivalent patching repository
- Experience working within a cloud environment a plus (Amazon AWS Azure or equivalent cloud infrastructure with virtual machines)
- Experience or knowledge of RedSeal Network Mapping tool a plus
- Knowledge of software deployed on systems a plus but not required (Elasticsearch Docker Kubernetes Nifi)
- Syslog/NxLog
- Nagios or other similar monitoring applications
- Scripting experience (Python/Perl)
