Job Summary

Please Note: This posting is for teacher resident candidates that are approved for a residency program through a partnering university.

Purpose:

The purpose of the Teacher Resident program is to recruit develop and retain teacher candidates who will achieve the mission and goals of the Comal Independent School District. To be an eective teacher a teacher must obtain knowledge skills and talent that will be acquired through college courses and clinical teaching order to address the growing need for high quality certied teachers to support the fast growth in Comal ISD the district is oering a residency for teacher candidates who will be expected to complete at least 750 hours of experience including a minimum of 400 hours of co-teaching and leading instruction with a highly qualified host teacher.

Comal ISDs Residency program will provide opportunities to grow teachers within our district. This program is recommended for those who are interested in completing their bachelors degree at a partnering university and becoming a certied teacher while employed at Comal ISD.

Application and approval with a partnering university for a teacher residency program
Sincere interest in developing teaching skills within Comal ISD
