Primary Purpose:
Coordinate and implement district-wide communications branding and marketing initiatives. Manage content creation marketing strategies media production (including video photography and podcasting) and storytelling that promote the mission and values of Texas City ISD. Serve as a lead contributor in developing and executing communications strategies that support public engagement staff recruitment and student enrollment while ensuring consistent professional representation of the district across all platforms.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors degree in communications marketing public relations journalism or a related field required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong writing editing and verbal communication skills
- Expertise in marketing strategy branding and content development
- Experience with photography video production and podcasting
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of current digital communication trends including social media and web-based platforms
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of public education or experience working in a school district preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in marketing public relations or multimedia communications
- Experience in public education or public sector communications preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Strategic Communications and Marketing
- Collaborate with the Chief Communications Officer to develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications plans to promote district programs initiatives and events.
- Serve as a lead project manager for district marketing campaigns student and staff recruitment efforts and public engagement strategies.
- Maintain a unified brand voice and visual identity across all district communication channels.
- Assist in crisis communications ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information during emergencies or high-impact situations.
Media Production and Content Creation
- Produce high-quality photography and videography for district publications websites and social media.
- Develop and manage the districts podcast series including planning recording editing and publishing content.
- Design and create promotional and informational materials including brochures flyers signage digital graphics and presentations.
- Write and edit copy for newsletters press releases website content and marketing materials.
Digital and Social Media
- Support the planning and execution of digital media strategies including website content updates social media campaigns and multimedia storytelling.
- Monitor digital analytics and engagement metrics to guide content planning and outreach.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate communications support for campuses and departments across the district.
- Build strong relationships with school administrators staff families and community stakeholders to support district communications goals.
- Represent the Communications Office at district and community events as needed.
Other
- Stay current on best practices and trends in school public relations marketing and digital communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May oversee interns student workers or vendors as assigned.
