Experience managing Apple devices and mobile technology using JAMF Pro or similar mobile device management (MDM) tools.

Experience supporting or working with enterprise or research-focused software and associated scientific or imaging technologies (e.g. laboratory research and medical systems).

Experience coordinating or leading IT projects including communicating with stakeholders and tracking timelines.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Software Engineering Physics or related field.

Job Description:

The College of Veterinary Medicine IT Services team is seeking a Systems Analyst II to support and enhance technology systems. The ideal candidate is an experienced systems analyst with handson expertise in Windows and Apple environments endpoint management desktop support and collaborative problemsolving within a complex organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Windows and Apple infrastructure including servers endpoints and research systems ensuring stability performance and timely updates.

  • Administer Windows devices using MECM and Apple devices using JAMF Pro maintaining consistency across deployed systems.

  • Coordinate technology lifecycle planning including equipment rotation inventory management and operating system upgrades.

  • Support the student onetoone computing program and provide desktop support across the college.

  • Collaborate with faculty staff leadership and central IT partners on projects procurement onboarding and process improvements.

  • Develop documentation standard operating procedures and contribute to strategic IT planning initiatives.

Example of Duties

Deploys maintains and troubleshoots systems infrastructure and services including email storage and identity and access management.

Manages and monitors all installed systems and infrastructure ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.

Collects and writes technical requirements for new systems.

Analyzes and implements an emerging technology that affects Iowa State University campus-wide.

Modifies maintains and updates complex software.

Prepares and conducts system and programming tests which may require the interfacing of diverse hardware and software.

Reviews potential applications and designs hardware/software interfaces.

Implements best practices for scalability supportability ease of maintenance and system performance.

Assignments are generally of a difficult technical nature and may involve project leadership activities.

Applies broad working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex difficult and varied problems and issues

Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems

May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff

May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity
