Reports to:Assistant Superintendent Teaching and Learning
Purpose: Provides remedial instruction to students who need additional instruction in math and literacy.
Qualifications:
Meet requirements of a Kansas Teaching License
Knowledge of Kansas Standards in mathematics and literacy intervention strategies assessments and intervention resources
Ability to communicate effectively with students school personnel and parents
ESOL endorsement preferred
Physical and Emotional Requirements: Speaking hearing visual reading writing word processing mobility consistency of temperament ability to problem solve and work in stress providing environments.
Performance Responsibilities:
Prepare and deliver targeted instruction in a small group individual and/or classroom setting
Deliver and use assessment results to diagnose areas of deficit and make instructional decisions that address students weaknesses
Use research based strategies that meet students learning needs and support core instruction
Coordinate planning and communicate students performance with teachers principal and curriculum coordinator
Use district-approved instructional resources which includes both primary and supplemental resources
Monitor and maintain accurate records for reporting student progress to teachers and parents
Assist in the assigning and scheduling of students
Terms of Employment: 9 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.
Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of Support Service Personnel
