Reports to:Assistant Superintendent Teaching and Learning
Purpose: Provides remedial instruction to students who need additional instruction in math and literacy.
Qualifications:
- Meet requirements of a Kansas Teaching License
- Knowledge of Kansas Standards in mathematics and literacy intervention strategies assessments and intervention resources
- Ability to communicate effectively with students school personnel and parents
- ESOL endorsement preferred
Physical and Emotional Requirements: Speaking hearing visual reading writing word processing mobility consistency of temperament ability to problem solve and work in stress providing environments.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver targeted instruction in a small group individual and/or classroom setting
- Deliver and use assessment results to diagnose areas of deficit and make instructional decisions that address students weaknesses
- Use research based strategies that meet students learning needs and support core instruction
- Coordinate planning and communicate students performance with teachers principal and curriculum coordinator
- Use district-approved instructional resources which includes both primary and supplemental resources
- Monitor and maintain accurate records for reporting student progress to teachers and parents
- Assist in the assigning and scheduling of students
Terms of Employment: 9 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.
Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of Support Service Personnel
