This is not your typical library this shared role youll have the chance to design imaginative programs connect with the community and spark a lifelong love of reading and learning. Youll work alongside another enthusiastic co-coordinator and the Library Director to ensure every program activity and daily responsibility is covered seamlessly.
- Creativity unleashed: Plan and lead interactive programs for children and teens--from story times and teen activities to community outreach events.
- Community impact: Plan and participate in outreach activities with local schools organizations and community members to strengthen the librarys role as a visible and valued part of life in Sampson County.
- Hands-on library experience: Assist at the circulation desk help patrons shelve materials and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operations of the library.
- Teamwork that works: Collaborate closely with your co-coordinator to balance schedules share responsibilities and make every program a success.
- Bachelors Degree with coursework in education library science or another related field supplemented by experience working with children or teens OR an equivalent combination of education training and hands-on experience working with children and/or teens showing you have the skills needed to thrive in this role
- Experience planning or leading programs for young people
- Creativity energy and a passion for inspiring children and teens
- Comfort with computers office technology and common software applications
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well with diverse groups
- A collaborative mindset: the ability to work effectively with a co-coordinator to ensure all programs and responsibilities are covered
- Positive attitude eagerness to learn and a love for working as part of a team
- Some Saturdays and evening hours required.
- Flexibility to work at any of the four Sampson-Clinton Public Library branches.
- Shared schedule averaging 19 hours per week coordinated with the Library Director and co-coordinator.
