Job Summary
The primary function of this position is to troubleshoot repair and perform maintenance procedures on the hospitals telephone system nurse call system television system and two-way communication system.
Responsibilities
- Supports the hospitals Christian mission and philosophy.
- Troubleshoots and performs repairs and maintenance on the telecommunications system.
- Makes all moves adds and other changes to the switch and associated equipment. Trains hospital employees in telephone use.
- Makes all programming additions and deletions on the computer programs.
- Generates all reports needed for telecommunications management.
- Interacts with representatives of communication equipment and service vendors to solve complex telecommunication system problems.
- Assists the Director of Engineering Services in evaluating system needs and makes recommendations for future expansions.
- Reads and interprets service manuals including installation and test procedures and their electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Experience - Sufficient previous experience as a biomedical equipment technician preferred. Customer relations verbal and written communication skills necessary.
Education - High school diploma or equivalent and/or vocational/ specialized training preferred. Courses in electronic technology required.
