Job Summary
About the Role: We are processing an unusually large patent portfolio across multiple technology domains and need experienced patent paralegals to support high-volume prosecution. This is not a typical 5-filing-per-month role our pipeline includes approximately 200 pending applications across AI health platforms supplement delivery technologies (lipid nanoparticles microencapsulation) photobiomodulation devices medical diagnostics and advertising technology. You will work directly with the inventor and patent attorneys to ensure every application meets quality standards and is filed Youll Do:Review dependent claims against independent claims for consistency antecedent basis and coverage gapsVerify patent figures match specification references and claim elementsQC attorney redlines before final submission check that changes didnt break cross-references figure numbering or claim dependenciesHandle USPTO filing logistics: entity status fee calculations IDS preparation oath/declaration assignment documentsFile via Patent Center / EFS-WebTrack deadlines across the full portfolio provisional-to-non-provisional conversion dates response deadlines priority datesManage the patent pipeline track which applications are at which stage flag bottlenecks produce status reportsCoordinate between the inventor multiple patent attorneys and the USPTOWhat You Bring:3 years of patent prosecution paralegal experience (utility patents not just trademarks/design)Direct experience filing via USPTO Patent Center or EFS-WebComfortable managing 15 active filings simultaneouslyExperience with technical subject matter across at least two of: biotech/pharma software/AI medical devices chemical/materials scienceMeticulous attention to detail cross-referencing claims against specifications is the core of this roleFast turnaround mentality our pipeline doesnt allow multi-day lag on QC tasksABA-approved paralegal certificate or equivalent credentials preferredNALA CP or NFPA RP certification a plusWhat You Dont Need:A science degree (youll work with technical content but youre not drafting claims or doing prior art searches)Big-law experience (boutique patent firm or in-house IP experience is actually preferred)
