Job Summary:
To prepare and serve lunches on a time schedule and to monitor quality and quantity control of all food served; to coordinate cafeteria operations; to serve as a liaison between principal and Food and Nutrition Department.
If offered a position with Food and Nutrition the offer is conditional on the applicant being required to pass a timed agility test. This test includes basic mobility bending reaching arms overhead and out rotation squatting and kneeling as well as lifting and carrying a 10lb weighted crate pushing a cart with a 20lb weighted crate and lifting a 47lb weighted crate. Exact details of the test will be explained at the time of testing.

Enforce district and Food & Nutrition policies; implement all county and department safety and sanitation procedures in the cafeteria
Prepare accurate reports and records
Supervise the operation of computerized point of sale system
Coordinate cafeteria operations; order food and supply items; approve meal applications
Supervise cafeteria personnel including managing training and evaluating employees
Prepare and post employee work schedules
Promote and market school lunch to students and staff
Provide quality customer service to students and staff
Serve as a liaison between principal and Food & Nutrition department
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
Regular and on-time attendance required
Attend designated meetings and classes
Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
Education:
High school education or equivalent
Valid Arizona Drivers license with proof of insurance and reliable transportation
Must have Maricopa County Food Service Worker card
Must acquire Maricopa County Certified Food Service Manager card within 3 months
Experience:
Two full years experience in school food service or equivalent experience required
