This is a weekender position 90% FTE 8/12-hour evening/night shift primarily to be 7:00 pm - 7:30 am working every weekend. Eligible for weekender differential of $10/hour for applicable weekend hours worked. Holiday rotation required. You will work at University Hospital in Madison WI.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to:
- Practice at University Hospital in Madison ranked among the nations top heart hospitals and be part of a high-performing cardiac team delivering exceptional outcomes.
- Thrive in a fast-paced 23-bed cardiac/telemetry unit caring for intermediate and general cardiology patients supported by central monitors throughout the unit and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Provide expert care for patients with coronary artery disease heart failure and dysrhythmias including management of titratable vasoactive drips.
- Partner closely with the Cardiac Cath Lab for pre- and post-procedure care and collaborate with advanced heart failure teams managing pre-transplant and LVAD patients within a growing innovative program.
- Grow with us: beginning this summer the unit will expand to include external pacemaker management and a broader cardiac surgical population creating exciting new opportunities to build expertise with advanced cardiac technologies in a high-acuity setting.

Pay:
Additional components of compensation include impressive shift differentials - $4/hour evening $5/hour night as applicable for hours worked. Weekender positions qualify for the $10/hr weekender differential as applicable for hours worked.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Work Experience
- Inpatient Units and Central Float (Adult & Pediatric) Venous Access Team (VAT) Radiology Hemodialysis Cardiovascular Laboratory: Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Healths Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
- Relevant RN experience Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
- Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
- ACLS within 6 months Required
- Relevant certification Preferred
