The Rubenstein Memorial Health Center Pharmacy on the UW Seattle Campus has an outstanding opportunity for a Staff Pharmacist (Pharmacist 2 (NE S CNU)) to join our Pharmacy Team!
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Perform clinical and distributive pharmacy duties.
Provide drug information and education to patients physicians/ clinicians and nurses.
Oversee and instruct students residents interns and technicians.
Provide pharmaceutical care to patients.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide oversight for the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications.
Conduct a thorough patient profile review to assess the appropriateness of the prescribed medication including monitoring individual patient profiles for drug duplications interactions allergies appropriate dose strength and route of administration at the time each order is received.
Interview patients and provide education regarding their medications.
Direct the work of technicians interns pharmacy students and residents
Recommend appropriate drug therapy based on patient parameters and interpretation of current literature safety efficacy and cost and advise providers about patients drug therapy.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience in pharmacy practice or completion of an American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists accredited residency training program.
LEGAL REQUIREMENT
A valid Washington State license to practice pharmacy or eligibility to obtain license prior to employment.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license/certification/registration.
