Who We Are:CAMBA is a community of staff volunteers clients donors neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City. CAMBA serves more than 65000 individuals and families each year citywide including almost 13000 youth. Our 180 programs in over 100 locations improve the lives of a diverse cross section of New Yorkers. From homelessness prevention in Staten Island to supportive housing in the Bronx; from employment training in Manhattan to after school programs and college access in Brooklyn; from family shelter and support in Queens to increasing affordable housing across the city CAMBA provides holistic services to help struggling New Yorkers stabilize their lives and become self-sufficient.
CAMBAs Cornerstone Program: CAMBA administers services at 9 Cornerstone Community Centers across Brooklyn. All Cornerstone programs are run in partnership with other community organizations to provide education recreation cultural activities health information and screenings youth leadership and social services to the neighborhoods students their families and other residents. Activities and services are available after school evenings and on weekends.

What does the Receptionist do:
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.
- Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.
- Comply withany and allFederal State City and CAMBA security and privacypolicesintended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.
- Retrieve messages from general voicemail and forward toappropriate personnel.
- Take or deliver messages or transfer calls to voicemail whenappropriate personnelare unavailable.
- Answer questions about organization and provide callers with address directions and other information.
- Welcome onsite visitorsdeterminenatureof business and announce visitors toappropriate personnel.
- Monitor visitor access and issuespasseswhenrequired.
- Update appointment calendars.
- Receive sort and route mail andmaintainand route publications.
- Maintain fax and copy machinesassistusers send faxes and retrieve and route incoming faxes.
- Update site bulletinboardweekly.
- Maintain the professional appearance of the receptionists area.
- Maintain package log andprogrampapers
- Order receive andmaintainoffice supplies.
- Create and print memos correspondence reports program marketing materials andotherdocumentwhen necessary.
- Administer and track application forms.
- Contact and schedule potential participants for assessments.
- Assistwith screening potential participants.
- Organize andmaintainfiling system (i.e. -files must include waiting list application forms etc.).
- Perform other clerical duties as needed such as filing photocopying and collating.
- May perform computer data entry/verification functions.
- Tasks may bemodifiedexpandedand/or assigned over time.
Qualifications:
EducationLicensesand/or Certifications Required:
- Sufficient education (English-speaking -reading -writing & math abilities) tocomprehendoral and written information and toassistcallers and visitorsand staff.
Minimum Experiences and Skills Required:
- Ability to type 25 words per minute.
- If off-site or school-based may require: Dept. of Health Dept. of Education fingerprint clearance; doctors note certifying good health; proof of negative results from TB test; and State Central Registry (SCR) clearance.
- If off-site or school-basedabilitytomaintainState Central Registry (SCR) clearance and fingerprint clearance throughout the duration of employment.
Compensation: $17 hourly
When salary ranges are listed the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and includes but is not limited to experience education budget and/or program size internal equity skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
