Job Summary

The Program Coordinator for Military Connected Students Success supports the recruitment transition engagement and retention of military-connected students including veterans active-duty service members National Guard and Reserve members military spouses and dependents. This position implements outreach enrollment and student success initiatives designed to expand access to the college and improve persistence and completion outcomes for military-connected students. The Program Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for prospective and current military-connected students and collaborates closely with enrollment services advising financial aid academic programs and workforce partners to ensure coordinated and responsive support. This role contributes to the execution of the colleges strategic initiatives to grow military-connected enrollment and strengthen the student experience through targeted outreach transition support engagement programming and data-informed student success strategies.

Office Operations Management & Program Support

  • Supports the day-to-day operations of the Office of Military and Veteran Services to ensure efficient responsive service delivery for military-connected students. Serves as a front-line point of contact for prospective and current students managing inquiries coordinating appointments and directing students to appropriate staff or campus services.

  • Maintains office records outreach tracking systems and program documentation that support recruitment engagement and reporting activities. Tracks and maintains data related to outreach recruitment activities and student engagement and program participation.

  • Assists with monitoring enrollment and retention trends among military-connected students and contributes to internal reporting and program evaluation efforts. Coordinates logistics for outreach events student programming meetings and partnership activities.

  • Maintains resource materials and communication tools that support military-connected students navigating institutional processes and to the development of streamlined office processes that improve service delivery and support continuous program improvement.

  • Coordinates with the colleges VA Certifying Officials within the Office of Financial Aid to ensure military-connected students receive accurate information and appropriate referrals related to education benefits.

Military Student Recruitment Transition & Enrollment Support

  • Supports recruitment initiatives targeting military-connected students. Represents the college at recruitment events military and veteran community events and transition assistance programs to promote educational opportunities and pathways.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with veteran service organizations community partners and workforce agencies to increase awareness of the college among military-connected populations.

  • Maintains communication with prospective military-connected students and assists them in navigating the admissions enrollment and onboarding process. Coordinates transition and orientation programming designed to support the successful entry of military-connected students into the college.

  • Provides information and referrals regarding admissions advising financial aid academic programs and student support services. Assists students in understanding institutional processes and connecting with campus resources that support their academic success and transition to college.

Student Success Retention & Engagement

  • Supports initiatives designed to improve the persistence engagement and completion of military-connected students. Coordinates programs workshops and events that support academic success leadership development and community engagement of military-connected students.

  • Monitors student engagement and provides outreach to students who may benefit from additional support or referral to campus services. Connects students to advising tutoring counseling career services and other institutional resources.

  • Coordinates activities that foster belonging and peer connections among military-connected students including support for student veteran organizations and peer engagement opportunities. Assists with events and programming that recognize and honor military-connected students and their service.

  • Supports initiatives that promote career pathways and workforce opportunities for veterans and military-connected students.

Cross-Functional Student Support

  • Participates in all-hands on deck periods during the semester which involves training and performance of front-facing student roles such as course registration support first semester course recommendation support new student onboarding support graduation and student success milestone support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelors Degree in Higher Education College Student Development Education Social Work Public Health Human Services or a related field.

  • Two (2) years of professional experience in higher education student support community education student engagement social services or a related area.

  • *An appropriate combination of education training coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.
