Healthy Living Coordinator (Part-Time)

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Executive Director the Healthy Living Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of Wellness and Group Exercise and providing quality leadership and guidance to YMCA Program staff and members. The Healthy Living Coordinator will evaluate and implement quality programs that meet the needs of the community.
Essential Functions:
- Determine and oversee program procedures and workflow that ensure the upmost service is provided to members and volunteers.
- Implement and supervise all programs and collaborations ensuring the highest quality and adherence to YMCA goals and standards are met for youth development healthy living and social responsibility.
- Implements department and program strategies that support recruitment of new participants and retention of existing members and program participants.
- Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
- Establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with the strategic and operating plans.
- Work closely with the LCB Membership Coordinator and Wellness Staff to develop income sources and support innovation in group exercise.
- Monitor and keep up-to-date on-line program schedules and Y App.
- Direct supervision of all group exercise instructors
- Assist Executive Director in the recruitment interviewing hiring training scheduling coaching supervision recognition and termination recommendation for all Wellness staff.
- Ensure all group exercise instructors are in compliance with the minimum education certification and/or continuing education requirements of the department
- Oversee general management cleanliness and upkeep of the Branch including group exercise and spinning studios Wellness Center and related equipment
- Inventory and prepare orders of all operating supplies for the department
- Assist in the development and marketing of health and fitness programming including brochures incentive programs bulletin boards email newsletters etc.
- Responsible for preventive maintenance of equipment and ensure timely repair of equipment to minimize disruption of service to members.
- Design promote and implement safe and effective fitness programs consistent with members interests and abilities.
- Ensure that the wellness Center and related programming meet the highest standards of safety risk management and member service
- Assume overall management of the New Member Orientation program including schedule creation facilitation and follow up for all new members as well as providing orientations as needed for new members.
- Assist leadership in the successful completion of the annual campaign and other related special events and activities. Leads assigned aspects of the fund-raising campaign
- Participate as requested in Association Service Center and branch committees cabinets and task forces.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience overseeing Health and Wellness programs preferred.
- Must be knowledgeable and have experience in YMCA standards and program guidelines.
- A strong background in staff supervision and team building are required.
- Positive role model with strong leadership conflict resolution and diplomacy skills.
Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: 20 hours per week.
Pay: $19.00/hr. Plus access to facilities to all YMCA employees Employee Assistance Program and Sick Leave.
