Access Services Librarian

The University of Lynchburg a private regional university in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia is seeking applicants for a full-time non-tenure track position in the Library for the academic year 2026-27. Salary and rank correspond to experience and educational credentials.

Specific Job Duties:

• Actively manage the operations facility and services for the Access Services Department of the library.
• Serve as liaison to one or more academic schools or departments in the provision of collection development instruction and research services.
• Recommend policies procedures services and enhancements to Access Services.
• Supervise train and evaluate regular and student staff.
• Work collaboratively and effectively as part of the library team and the University community keeping current on best practices in policy instruction and technology for Access Services.
• Establish and maintain professional and ethical boundaries with students co-workers and others in all learning environments.
• Participate in University service and events.
• Perform other responsibilities that may be assigned by the University Librarian.

• Prolonged periods standing or sitting at a desk bending kneeling
• Ability to lift 20lbs.

Required Qualifications:

• Three years of academic library experience
• Supervisory experience
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous scheduling and training experience.
• Familiarity with library software packages: Alma/Primo Springshare OCLC Tipasa

Education:

• ALA accredited Masters of Library/Information Science required
