Position Overview
We are seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Designer with strong PTC Creo experience to support a fast-paced engineering team focused on 3D parametric design large assembly packaging and wire harness routing.
This role is ideal for a designer with hands-on experience creating production-ready technical drawings managing component clearances and supporting prototype-to-production design releases in a structured product development environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Creo Cabling electrical harness routing Windchill PLM and ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D parametric models and component designs using PTC Creo
- Design and package wire harness routing retention clips and attachment strategies in large assemblies
- Analyze and maintain stationary and moving part clearances
- Create detailed technical drawings and release documentation
- Apply GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards to production drawings
- Support prototype and production manufacturing methods
- Collaborate with engineering manufacturing and cross-functional teams to resolve design issues
- Maintain organized CAD data revisions and documentation within Windchill PLM
- Provide occasional manufacturing floor support during prototype builds or design validation
- Communicate design progress risks and technical updates clearly to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent hands-on experience
- 5 years of Creo CAD design experience
- Strong experience with Creo Cabling Tool for electrical harness and wire routing
- Experience working in Windchill PLM
- Proven background in technical drawing creation detailing and GD&T
- Working knowledge of prototype and production manufacturing processes
- Strong communication documentation and collaboration skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment with shifting priorities
- High attention to detail and pride in producing accurate design work
- U.S. Citizenship required
