Mechanical Designer – Wire Harness Packaging

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Designer with strong PTC Creo experience to support a fast-paced engineering team focused on 3D parametric design large assembly packaging and wire harness routing.

This role is ideal for a designer with hands-on experience creating production-ready technical drawings managing component clearances and supporting prototype-to-production design releases in a structured product development environment.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Creo Cabling electrical harness routing Windchill PLM and ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 3D parametric models and component designs using PTC Creo
• Design and package wire harness routing retention clips and attachment strategies in large assemblies
• Analyze and maintain stationary and moving part clearances
• Create detailed technical drawings and release documentation
• Apply GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards to production drawings
• Support prototype and production manufacturing methods
• Collaborate with engineering manufacturing and cross-functional teams to resolve design issues
• Maintain organized CAD data revisions and documentation within Windchill PLM
• Provide occasional manufacturing floor support during prototype builds or design validation
• Communicate design progress risks and technical updates clearly to stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent hands-on experience
• 5 years of Creo CAD design experience
• Strong experience with Creo Cabling Tool for electrical harness and wire routing
• Experience working in Windchill PLM
• Proven background in technical drawing creation detailing and GD&T
• Working knowledge of prototype and production manufacturing processes
• Strong communication documentation and collaboration skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment with shifting priorities
• High attention to detail and pride in producing accurate design work
• U.S. Citizenship required
