Job Summary
Position Summary: The Operations Generalist II is a cross functional position responsible for general operational duties in a production environment with a concentration in receiving and distribution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fork lift and clamp truck driving
- Receiving and distribution dock/bay liaison. Receive and ship material. Material monitoring tracking storing and staging.
- Material waste processor. Transport large metal waste dumpsters into warehouse recycling trailers. Coordinate recycling pickup and transport.
- Paper inventory stager. Assist with monthly and quarterly inventory audits.
- Material handling (Press and Packaging)
- Move load and prepare newsprint rolls weighing up to 1200 pounds.
- Cleaning and maintenance of press and production equipment as needed.
- Monitor products for print quality.
- Function clearly in a deadline driven environment.
- Remain safety conscious at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow instructions of different leads
- Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy
- Ability to follow procedures within a defined structure yet have a willingness to try new ideas
- Team player
- Sense of urgency to meet deadlines
Requirements minimum education level and experience:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience in production environment preferred
- Forklift clamp truck certified preferred.
- Day shift flex-shift with some variable shifts as needed.
- Workflow and inventory process experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for the shift duration and do physical maneuvers such as bending stooping and lifting 25-50 lbs. Climbing Ascend and descend Press stairs and deck walk
Must be able to push and pull loaded carts that weigh up to 300lbs.
