Summary:
The Business Development Associate supports Ovation Healthcares growth strategy by contributing to pipeline development outreach efforts and early-stage relationship engagement with hospital and healthcare system leaders.
This role is well-suited for an early-career professional or recent graduate with foundational exposure to healthcare operations strategy or business development who is interested in learning the complexities facing independent and community hospitals. This position is responsible for identifying opportunities initiating outreach and supporting demand generation initiatives aligned with Ovation Healthcares service lines.
Working closely with Sales Marketing and Line-of-Business leaders this role supports outreach efforts by translating market intelligence and campaign engagement into initial conversations with prospective clients and partners. The role requires developing knowledge of the healthcare industry strong communication skills and the ability to execute outreach strategies with guidance and coaching.
Success in this role requires a consultative mindset intellectual curiosity and the ability to engage healthcare leaders in value-driven conversations around operational performance financial sustainability and strategic transformation over time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support business development outreach to hospital and health system leaders through targeted multi-channel engagement strategies with direction from leadership.
Utilize established qualification criteria to assess and progress both inbound and outbound leads into sales-ready opportunities.
Partner with Sales leadership to support pipeline development across priority markets service lines and growth initiatives.
Conduct market and account research to identify organizations facing operational financial or strategic pressures aligned with Ovation solutions.
Support initial outreach and discovery conversations; progressively build capability to lead consultative discussions.
Collaborate with Marketing to operationalize campaigns into measurable pipeline activity and executive engagement.
Support strategic partnerships with state hospital associations industry organizations and channel partners to expand market presence.
Maintain accurate opportunity tracking engagement history and account intelligence within CRM systems.
Monitor engagement signals and prioritize outreach based on buying intent and organizational readiness.
Support Sales teams with account research stakeholder identification and meeting preparation.
Participate in conferences webinars and industry events to support relationship development and lead generation.
Provide feedback to Marketing and Sales leadership regarding market trends and messaging effectiveness.
Work Experience Education and Certifications:
Bachelors degree in business Healthcare Administration Marketing or related field required. MHA or similar graduate programs preferred.
0-3 years of experience or relevant internship experience in healthcare consulting sales or business development.
Exposure to healthcare leadership environments through internships projects or academic experience preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Understanding of hospital operations or healthcare industry dynamics preferred.
Experience supporting pipeline development and lead qualification preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and or ability to learn quickly.
Ability to analyze account data and translate insights into outreach insights.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Self-directed professional comfortable operating in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
Travel Requirement:
Occasional travel for team meetings or conferences may be required (less than 10%).
