Local to Phoenix AZ area

Avnet is seeking a Business Analyst II with strong analytical financial and problemsolving capabilities to support key initiatives related to tariff mitigation and recovery and freight and transportation analytics.

This role will work crossfunctionally with Global Trade Compliance Transportation Logistics Finance and Operations teams to identify costreduction opportunities improve data accuracy and support decisionmaking through actionable insights. The ideal candidate has a strong analytics skillset exceptional attention to detail and experience working with large datasets in a global supply chain environment.


Job Summary:

Tariff Mitigation & Recovery

  • Analyze global import and export data to identify tariffmitigation opportunities (e.g. HTS reclassification duty drawback country-of-origin optimization).
  • Support the development tracking and automation of recovery programs to ensure accurate and timely tariff refunds.
  • Partner with Trade Compliance and regional logistics teams to validate tariff assessments dispute discrepancies and monitor regulatory impacts.
  • Build forecasting models to estimate financial impact of tariff changes or mitigation strategies.

Freight & Transportation Analytics

  • Analyze freight spend transportation performance and network flows to identify savings opportunities and operational improvements.
  • Develop automated dashboards and KPIs to track transportation cost carrier performance and shipment trends.
  • Support global freight negotiations with data insights scenario modeling and rate analysis.
  • Perform rootcause analysis on cost variances billing discrepancies and service failures across all transportation modes.

Data Reporting & Tooling

  • Build and maintain scalable datasets reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI Excel etc.
  • Improve data quality across freight transportation and trade compliance systems by identifying gaps and implementing corrective solutions.
  • Present insights clearly to leadership and crossfunctional teams translating complex data into actionable business recommendations.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Collects compiles and analyzes data from various databases and performs statistical analysis for internal customer groups.
  • Develops reports and/or creates dashboards providing financial related information needed to make informed business decisions.
  • Designs creates and implements templates to collect display and analyze data for assigned projects
  • Communicates complex data in comprehensible ways. Evaluates information from multiple sources and clearly indicates quality of final analysis.
  • Develops reports and other tools to deliver internal company information enabling business users to make informed decisions.
  • Gathers aggregates models and analyzes information from multiple external sources regarding company financial performance customer insights competitor profiling competitive threats potential product or technical expansion industry trends and other such business intelligence aspects.
  • Establishes standards and procedures for a variety of processes conducting business analysis resulting in detailed creation and maintenance of business process mapping requirements and training materials documentation.
  • May participate in or lead project teams.
  • Identifies investigates and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures to include various key performance metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Thorough knowledge of principles theories and concepts in area of discipline. Competent in all job functions and has general understanding of the industry practices techniques and standards.
  • Develops solutions for a variety of situations and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis. May refer to policies practices and precedents for guidance; determines best course of action to achieve results.
  • Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. May receive some limited guidance for new assignments. Work may be reviewed for overall adequacy.
  • Collaborates with management and team members within the department/function and other areas of the organization. May represent department internally or externally.
  • Actions may impact the success of the overall department and/or the organization. Failure to accomplish work or erroneous decisions may result in delays to projects loss of revenue or allocation of additional resources to remedy.


Work Experience:

  • Typically 3 years with bachelors or equivalent.


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

Distinguishing Characteristic(s):

  • 24 years of experience in business analysis supply chain analytics transportation logistics or trade compliance.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience working with large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI (or other BI tools).
  • Ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and communicate insights effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and drive process improvements.
