Asset Management Analyst, Tape Media Operations
Job Summary
We are seeking a Asset Management Analyst Tape Media Operations to own and oversee enterprise tape
media services supporting both IBM (mainframe) and Open Systems environments within our data
center this role you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability security and
compliance of tapebased data protection services that support business continuity longterm data
retention and disaster recovery.
Although newer storage technologies continue to evolve tape remains a critical component of
enterprise data protectionespecially in regulated industries where longterm retention
auditability and data security are essential. This position provides endtoend ownership of tape
operations serving as the primary point of accountability for operational excellence vendor
coordination and audit readiness.

What Youll Do
Own Tape Media Operations
- Serve as the primary owner for enterprise tape media operations across data center environments.
- Ensure daytoday tape services (handling retention recovery and lifecycle management) operate reliably and consistently.
- Partner with data center and storage teams to support backup and recovery objectives.
Ensure Compliance & Audit Readiness
- Maintain auditready tape operations by ensuring accurate documentation inventory tracking and process adherence
- Support internal and external audits by providing clear operational evidence and responding to findings as needed
- Help ensure tape handling and data retention practices align with regulatory and industry requirements.
Lead Vendor & Partner Engagements
- Act as the main operational contact for tape vendors and service providers.
- Manage vendor incidents escalations and service issues through resolution.
- Coordinate root cause analysis and drive corrective actions when needed.
Drive Incident Response & Risk Reduction
- Lead response efforts for taperelated incidents impacting backup restore or recovery services.
- Work crossfunctionally to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
- Identify operational risks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage Inventory Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate tape inventories location tracking and lifecycle status.
- Establish operational metrics and reporting to demonstrate service health and reliability.
- Drive standardization and improvements across tape media processes.
Work Schedule Requirements: This is an on-site position. An on-site position must be consistently performed at an assigned Visa office location and require daily commute to the office location. Weekend and Holidays will be required.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications
- 2 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree OR 5 years of relevant work experience. Masters graduates must have 2 years of relevant work experience to qualify.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD)
- Bachelors degree in information technology Computer Science Engineering or equivalent
- professional experience.
- Experience in enterprise tape operations data protection storage or archival environments
- Working knowledge of data retention data security and operational compliance concepts.
- Experience coordinating with vendors and crossfunctional technical teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including documentation and reporting.
- Ability to take ownership manage priorities and drive outcomes.
- Experience working in financial services or other regulated enterprise environments.
- Program or project management experience in infrastructure or operations roles.
- Familiarity with enterprise tape platforms or tape management software.
- Industry certifications related to storage data protection or program management (e.g. IBM Tape PMP).
Additional Information :
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 94400.00 to 146700.00 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
