Job Summary
Seeking an enthusiastic and personable Pool Server to provide outstanding service to our poolside guests. The ideal candidate is attentive proactive and skilled in delivering a memorable guest experience in a fast-paced outdoor setting.
- Offer professional friendly and engaging service
- Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
- Maintain overall cleanliness of the pool deck and inventory of guest amenities
- Shifts include weekdays weekends and holidays
- Follow restaurant and pool deck policies procedures and service standards
- Have full knowledge of beverage lists promotions menu items contents and preparation methods
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages
- Adhere to payment and cash handling procedures
- May have to assist other outlets and other F&B departments as needed
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service
- procedures/standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
- Anticipate guests needs respond promptly and acknowledge all guests however busy and whatever time of day.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
- Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Resolve guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands beers and non-alcoholic selections available through In Room Dining.
- Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
- Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for drinks.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items preparation method ingredients sauces preparation time garnishes presentation and prices.
- Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations particularly those prohibiting service to minors intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
- Maintain knowledge of P.O.S. and manual systems.
- Complete opening side duties as assigned:
- Check quality and amount of all In Room Dining stock and supplies using checklist.
- Fold/stack In Room Dining napkins.
- Requisition all necessary supplies and transport from storeroom to In Room Dining.
- Set up all condiments (butter jellies syrups juices) and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
- Ensure a sufficient supply of all silverware glassware and chinaware for service.
- Check cleanliness and condition of all equipment for use in Pool area rectify any deficiencies.
- Ensure all flowers and decorative items are fresh for guest use.
- Retrieve all food orders from kitchen and place on tray.
- Retrieve all alcoholic beverage items from bar and place on table/tray in accordance with the departmental standards.
- Serve the food items and beverages to the guest.
- Open and serve wine/champagne bottles.
- Present check to guest for signature/payment. Adhere to all payment procedures established by Accounting.
- Clean and reset tables/trays maintaining sufficient supply in the In Room Dining area.
- Complete closing side duties:
- Properly store all reusable goods.
- Breakdown all goods.
- Clean all equipment as assigned in the side duties.
- Restock items for next service.
- Remove all dirty linen; fold napkins.
- Marry and stock all condiments.
- Reset tables/trays.
- Complete all closing reports as assigned.
- Utilize suggestive/up-selling techniques when taking orders.
- Input order into system and ensure transmission of food orders is verified by Kitchen.
- Legibly document orders when system is down and distribute food orders to Kitchen.
- Process payment of guest checks according to Accounting procedures.
- Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule.
- Legibly document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to Manager/Supervisor.
Qualifications :
- High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate
- Previous experience in food service industry an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Previous point of sale system experience an asset
- Food handler & TABC certifications required
- Certification in CPR an asset
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to multi task and work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times
