Responsibilities
Position Summary: The Medical Physicist Assistant provides support to the Clinical Medical Physicists in the general medical physics duties pertaining to operating a radiotherapy clinic. This includes machine and patient specific quality assurance (QA) development and implementation of new technology and process participation in the acceptance testing and commissioning of a new treatment machine etc. The individual will work under the direct supervision of a board-certified clinical physicist.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelors or higher degree from an accredited college or university and/or certification in radiation oncology.
PREFERRED:
- Bachelors degree in physics mathematics engineering computer science or science from an accredited college or university.
- Experience with Radiation Oncology EMR software and treatment planning systems.
- Proficiency in coding and scripting in C# or Python.
- Ability to work as part of an integrated care and process team.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed especially late night shifts to conduct patient specific quality assurance.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize work flow.
- Technical problem solving.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
