What Youll Do

Site Representative for Nuclear Enterprise Assurance (NEA) is required to evaluate address and document supply chain risks associated with product and processes for all weapon systems. The intent is to prevent introduction of malicious hardware and software into the supply chain weapons components and weapon processes. These programs require participation across Product Realization Teams (PRTs) as well as across organization lines to understand define apply rigor and assess technical priorities. The NEA Site Representative will be the Subject Matter Expert that provides support to site organizations in the identification analysis and resolution of NEA related issues. Frequent travel is required to support external meetings. This position will require cross-functional teaming and direct customer interface. Have initiative and be able to work with independent judgment under limited supervision to complete major tasks and milestones. The employees primary duty is the performance of office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of the Company and such primary duty includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment. Independent judgment and discretion involve the comparison and evaluation of possible courses of conduct and having the authority to make an independent choice free from immediate direction with respect to matters of significance. The employee will also be required to:

  • Work closely with multiple weapon teams to help perform discovery and analysis in support of the NEA program.
  • Collaborate with the intelligence community on activities that can be a major positive factor in the supply chain integrity.
  • Evaluate and develop NEA risk mitigations procedures and metrics.
  • Interact with Design Agencies and other site NEA Point of Contact (POC) to establish a program to prevent or mitigate potential consequences of nuclear weapon life-cycles deliberate unauthorized acts that may lead to denial of authorized use or degradation of weapon reliability or performance.
  • Provide technical consultation to other technical and administrative personnel to drive and implement short and Long-term projects.
  • Champion initiatives to resolve critical process and technological-related issues.

This position requires high standards excellent observation skills superior written and oral communication skills and superior interpersonal skills. A working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Access and SharePoint is required.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Masters degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • OR Applicants without a bachelors degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 10 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

DOE Order 426.2A Requirements

  • In addition to the above requirements the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (Baccalaureate in engineering or related science 2 years job-related and at least 1 year nuclear experience or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. Preferred Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a technical and/or business-related discipline combined with at least 10 years of experience in a technical position.
  • Ability to understand technically complex systems technologies and applications within the manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to understand basic quality principles such as Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1).
  • Ability to plan review and communicate technical processes.
  • Analyze operational data for the purpose of generating written reports or process improvements.
  • Analyze problems and make recommendations associated with special tooling and fixtures used in processes.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate through oral and written word.
  • Experience directly associated with weapons components and weapon processes is desired.
  • Experience with leading and/or participating in subversion vulnerability or security-related risk assessments.
  • Strong communication skills that support the ability to coordinate interact network and mediate with local and Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE)-level NEA subject matter experts and site managers as well as technical weapons personnel project managers and cross-cutting function personnel.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph pursuant to 10 CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
