As a DevOps Engineer at FireMon youll play a critical role in building and maintaining the infrastructure tooling and processes that empower our engineering teams to develop high-quality software quickly and confidently. Youll partner closely with developers engineers and stakeholders to streamline workflows eliminate bottlenecks and uphold the reliability and security of our systems.
Responsibilities
- Design build test and maintain the infrastructure and tooling that supports rapid reliable development and delivery of FireMons products
- Identify and automate repetitive manual processes across our build test and release pipelines to improve team-wide productivity
- Own and oversee code releases ensuring deployments follow established processes and meet quality standards
- Act as a bridge between stakeholders and development teams translating business needs into technical requirements
- Continuously evaluate and improve CI/CD pipelines development workflows and release processes
- Review and analyze code written by others providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to best practices
- Champion security across the SDLC proactively identifying vulnerabilities and ensuring systems are hardened against cybersecurity threats
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues developing patches and updates as needed
- Contribute to project planning and execution helping to scope prioritize and deliver initiatives on time
- Stay current with emerging tools technologies and industry trends as FireMons platform and ecosystem continue to evolve
- Work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative supportive engineering community
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field
- 4 years of experience in development operations or a similar role
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI/CD (preferred) Jenkins or CircleCI
- Proficiency in scripting and strongly typed languages including Python Bash Java and/or Go
- Experience with version control systems particularly Git; familiarity with GitLab-based workflows (merge requests protected branches) preferred
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools such as Terraform Terragrunt or Pulumi
- Experience with container runtimes such as Docker
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible (preferred) Puppet Chef or Salt
- Experience with Kubernetes (preferably AWS EKS) including Helm charts Kustomize and GitOps delivery tools like Flux CD
- Understanding of core networking concepts (DNS TCP/IP load balancing firewalls)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to produce clear technical documentation
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced evolving environment with shifting priorities
- A growth mindset eager to learn new technologies and apply them to real-world challenges
- Creative thinker who can translate technical knowledge into meaningful improvements across the product
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault for secrets management PKI and dynamic credentials
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring stacks (Prometheus Grafana OpenTelemetry)
- Experience with AWS services such as EKS VPC IAM/IRSA Route53 S3 EFS and Transit Gateway
- Exposure to on-premises hypervisors such as Nutanix AHV/Prism Central
- Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tooling: Karpenter External Secrets Operator Cilium Envoy Gateway
- Familiarity with security scanning and compliance tools (Trivy Checkov Gitleaks)
- Experience with PostgreSQL administration
