Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery
Location: Fort Myers FL
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks (High possibility of extension)
Shift: 12-Hour Day Shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns before during and immediately after childbirth. This is a fast-paced high-acuity environment requiring strong clinical expertise critical thinking and compassionate patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients and newborns
- Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery
- Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy as prescribed
- Interpret fetal monitoring strips and respond appropriately
- Support patients and families with education and emotional care
- Collaborate with obstetricians midwives and interdisciplinary teams
- Document patient care accurately using EMR systems
- Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Prior travel experience required
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:1 to 2:1
- Proficiency with Epic EMR system
- Degree accreditation must be included in profile OR minimum 5 years of experience required
Certifications Required
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (required)
Preferred Qualifications
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification
