Job Summary
What you get to do every day:
- Partner with management team toidentifyshop priorities and meet store goals
- Oversee and manage the repair and maintenance program of bike and ski/snowboard gear
- Perform bike and ski/snowboards repairs and maintenance as needed
- Build assemble and tune new bikes
- Mount new skis and snowboards
- Repair and tune customers bikes skis and snowboards
- Provide expert advice to customers on gear related matters including gear recommendations product fit and technical advice
- Train and mentor shop techs
- Manage inventory and ensure that all necessary parts and tools are available
- Keep up to date with industry trends and developments
- Work with the store team to develop and implement marketing strategies for shop related products and services
- Assist on the sales floor as needed
- Assist the Store Manager in opening and closing the store as needed.
- Ensure the store is properly secured and alarm systems are functioning correctly
- Manage cash and credit card transactions and perform daily cash reconciliation
- Other duties as assigned by the management team
What you bring to the role:
- At least 3 years of experience as a bike and ski/snowboard tech or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of bike and ski/snowboard mechanics and repair
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a team
- Passion for outdoor activities and a commitment to environmental stewardship
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with associates and customers
- Ability to remain standing for up to 5 hours at a time
- Ability to move about the store coaching and directing associates; selling to customers and retrieving merchandise from stockroom or sales floor
- Ability to grab reach push pull bend stoop kneel and crouch to retrieve and replenish merchandise from stockroom or sales floor
- Ability to lift and/or move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and/or move merchandise
- Ability to operate a computer POS system keyboards merchandise scanners and mouse to accomplish work
- Workweeks are expected to be between 46 and 48 hours with the ability to have a flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
- Regular and predictable attendance
