Key Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate psychosocial support and therapy services to adults children and adolescents.
• Interpret patient perceptions of diagnoses and treatment through verbal and nonverbal communication.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient development temperament coping style medical care plan and available social supports.
• Use developmentally appropriate methods to prepare patients and families for diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Provide emotional support and teach coping skills during identified stress points.
• Utilize stress-reduction and relaxation techniques to support adaptive coping and self-expression.
• Plan and facilitate individual and family therapy sessions based on patient and clinic needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure holistic patient care.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Mercys Mission Values and Service Standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Masters degree in Psychology Counseling Social Work or a related human services field

Licensure

• PLPC (Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor)

Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a behavioral healthrelated field

Certification

• SAFE certified

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Strong background in behavioral disorders bereavement and health-related psychosocial issues
• Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
• Ability to establish rapport quickly with patients and families
• Strong clinical judgment empathy and professionalism
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push pull and/or lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during each shift
• Ability to grip reach bend kneel twist and squat to perform job duties
