Position Details:
Key Responsibilities
- Provide appropriate psychosocial support and therapy services to adults children and adolescents.
- Interpret patient perceptions of diagnoses and treatment through verbal and nonverbal communication.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient development temperament coping style medical care plan and available social supports.
- Use developmentally appropriate methods to prepare patients and families for diagnostic and treatment procedures.
- Provide emotional support and teach coping skills during identified stress points.
- Utilize stress-reduction and relaxation techniques to support adaptive coping and self-expression.
- Plan and facilitate individual and family therapy sessions based on patient and clinic needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Mercys Mission Values and Service Standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Masters degree in Psychology Counseling Social Work or a related human services field
Licensure
- PLPC (Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor)
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a behavioral healthrelated field
Certification
- SAFE certified
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong background in behavioral disorders bereavement and health-related psychosocial issues
- Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
- Ability to establish rapport quickly with patients and families
- Strong clinical judgment empathy and professionalism
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push pull and/or lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during each shift
- Ability to grip reach bend kneel twist and squat to perform job duties
