How youll contribute

APharmacy Technicianwho excels in this role:

• Fills orders with correct medications.
• Delivers medications to patient care areas and automated dispensing machines accurately and timely.
• Procures pharmaceutical and related supplies per contractual terms.
• Maintains appropriate pharmacy inventory levels
• Prepares pharmaceutical preparations including unit-dosing medication and properly labeling any dispensed medications.
• Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to patient computes charges and enters data in computer.
• Maintains temperature and environmental monitoring logs appropriately.
• Restocks shelves and rotates stock.
• Properly disposes of non-recyclable items.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.
• Returns medications to stock and rotates stock.
• Maintains clean and sanitary pharmacy department.
• Collaborates with Director of Pharmacy to ensure department needs are met and departmental goals are achieved.
• Maintains security of the pharmacy. Maintains security of controlled substances.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• The ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with medical and administrative staff as well as patients and families in an assertive professional manner
• Basic understanding of the role and use of a computer in the processing of prescription orders with word processing skills
• Self motivated self directed with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Good math and science skills
• Good stress coping skills
