WHY Safety Applications

As we scale the complexity and volume of safety threats have grown exponentially making Trust and Safety the single most critical engineering problem we face. The platforms ability to achieve its mission hinges entirely on the foundational tooling we build.

We are not just responding to incidents; We are building the scalable operating system for all of Robloxs Trust & Safety strategy. As a Senior Full-stack Engineer on the Safety Application pod within the Safety Experience you will be instrumental in developing our in-house safety applications. This role emphasizes building intuitive scalable and AI-agentic-powered tooling for daily Roblox safety acts. If you are passionate about solving complex high-impact problems in an adversarial landscape this is the team for you. You will report to the Engineering Manager of the Safety Application Team.

You Will:

• Assume ownership of the complete lifecycle for full-stack features within Safety labeling and Investigative tooling encompassing technical specification implementation rollout monitoring and iteration ensuring alignment with the designated pod roadmap.
• Engage in close collaboration with Operations Product Managers and partner safety pods to translate ambiguous workflows and pain points into clear requirements and pragmatic technical designs thoughtfully balancing immediate needs with long-term platformization objectives.
• Define the architectural direction for the next generation of safety applications integrating Artificial Intelligence methodologies.
• Contribute to and maintain shared moderation primitives (e.g. Compliance Quality Assurance Traffic Routing workforce management and agentic AI labeling) to facilitate the streamlined onboarding of new safety surfaces by integrator teams.
• Take complete responsibility for projects throughout their entire lifecycle.
• Drive cross-functional engagement and lead technical initiatives to ensure the widespread adoption and success of our core safety applications.
• Report directly to the Engineering Manager of Safety Applications.

You Have:

• 5 years of experience in software development.
• Distributed Systems Architecture: Proven ability to design and implement robust high-throughput microservices (handling thousands of requests per second) while maintaining a strict focus on system safety and security.
• Full-Stack Proficiency: Experience with both front-end (e.g. React Vue Angular) and back-end technologies (e.g. Python Java Go) to deliver end-to-end features.
• Safety-Driven Mindset: A strong commitment to designing implementing and maintaining systems that prioritize user safety data integrity and compliance with safety policies.
• Equivalent experience or a BS in Computer Science Applied Math Physics Engineering Statistics or another technical field.
• Curious to learn new technologies and systematically grow your skills.

You Are:

• Experienced (5 years): You have extensive experience as a full-stack engineer proficient in both front-end and back-end development working on complex production-grade systems end-to-end.
• Analytical & Data-Driven: You possess a strong ability to instrument collect and analyze user interaction data (e.g. A/B testing usage metrics) to inform design decisions and continuously maximize user impact and product performance.
• Versatile & Adaptable: You are proficient across multiple programming languages frameworks and technologies (e.g. modern React #Golang Python relational/NoSQL databases cloud platforms) and can quickly shift focus and master new skills to meet project demands.
• Team-Player & Technical Leader: You are a collaborative team member who actively mentors peers drives technical excellence and takes ownership of leading and delivering key features and projects across team boundaries.
• AI native: You are eager to define and build AI-centric solutions incorporating modern machine learning and agentic AI capabilities directly into the core user experience and system architecture.
