Job Summary
PROGRAM OPERATION: Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes. Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements. Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook. Submits requested information within established timelines. STUDENTS: Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and provide assistance. Deal with student concerns and if necessary consult with program coordinator to resolve issues. INSTRUCTION: Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Canvas PowerPoint etc. as event of emergency absence notifies program/department chair.
A qualified faculty member meets the program standard through one of five routes:
- Possesses an earned masters degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in accounting; or
- Possesses an earned related or out-of-field masters degree from a regionally accredited institution with documented 18 post-secondary semester hours or equivalent of courses in accounting; or
- Possesses an earned related or out-of-field masters degree from a regionally accredited institution with documentation in two or more of the following:
- In-field professional certification (national regional or state)
- Three years of in-field professional employment
- Documented evidence of teaching excellence including date of award
- Documentation of research and publication in the field
- Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelors degree equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework CEUs vendor or military; or
- Possesses an earned bachelors degree in accounting from a regionally accredited institution with documentation in two or more of the following:
- In-field professional certification (national regional or state)
- Two years of in-field professional employment
- Documented evidence of teaching excellence including date of award
- Documentation of research and publication in the field
- Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelors degree equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework CEUs vendor or military.
- Possesses and earned Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution with an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
