Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Emergency Float Pool
Location: Syracuse NY Duration: Contract (13 Weeks)
Job Description
The CNA will provide both direct and indirect patient care in an emergency care setting. This role involves assisting with daily patient needs monitoring safety and supporting the healthcare team in delivering efficient and high-quality care. The position may also require working as a safety companion for at-risk patients.
Key Responsibilities
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing feeding toileting and hygiene
Obtain and accurately record vital signs
Act as a safety companion for patients requiring continuous observation
Respond to rapidly changing patient conditions in an emergency setting
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary teams
Maintain a safe and clean patient care environment
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Communicate patient information effectively within the care team
Uphold ethical standards and professional conduct
Required Qualifications
Current New York State CNA certification
Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Minimum 1 year of patient care experience
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to pass pre-employment health screening
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a Level 1 trauma hospital setting
Experience Requirements
Level 1 trauma hospital experience is required
BLS certification is required
Minimum 2 years of experience providing ADLs is required
Experience working as a safety companion (ensuring patient safety) is highly desired
