UW Medical Center-Northwesthas a leadership opportunity for a Nurse Manager to join ourPre-Op and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within Surgical Services.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
This role partners with surgeons anesthesiologists nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe efficient and high-quality patient care across the perioperative continuum.
The Nurse Manager has 24-hour accountability for clinical operations patient care delivery staff management regulatory compliance financial performance and patient experience. This position oversees pre-anesthesia patient preparation and post-anesthesia Phase I and II recovery ensuring effective patient flow safe transitions of care and adherence toevidence-based standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Recruiting and hiring
- Supervision and planning
- Implementation of programs to meet specific patient care needs
- Focus on continuous improvement of the quality of patient care
- Planning and management of the units budget
The Nurse Manager will have direct oversight of more than 45 employees.to include those that directly support the nurse manager and lead practice:
- Three Assistant Nurse Managers
- Clinical Nurse Educator
The Nurse Manager provides leadership to help build and sustain a foundation of quality and excellence in practice.
REQUIRMENTS
- Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license(or ability to obtain)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimumfive (5) years of nursing experience withthree (3) years of acute care clinical experience insurgicalservices
- Previousleadership experience (Assistant Nurse Manager Nurse Manager orequivalent)
- Will beto obtain and maintain ACLS certification.
